On December 18, 2024, Karnataka Public School hosted an HPV awareness session for students and parents. Organized in collaboration with Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer (ARTIST), HDR Healthcare Foundation, the session aimed to educate the school community about the importance of HPV vaccination and testing.
The event began with an introduction by Dr. Hemavathi from the Lions Club, emphasizing the significance of HPV awareness. Sheetal Joshi and Pallavi S P from ARTIST & HDR Healthcare Foundation then delivered an engaging presentation on HPV, its risks, and the benefits of prevention. A lively Q&A session followed, allowing for open dialogue and addressing concerns.
The highlight of the session was the distribution of consent forms for HPV vaccination. Over 50% of the parents expressed interest in vaccinating their children, demonstrating the positive impact of the awareness campaign.
The HPV awareness session at KPS was a resounding success. The school community showed keen interest in learning about HPV and taking proactive steps towards prevention. This initiative marks a significant step towards promoting health and well-being among the student population.
